Job Summary

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist, Labor to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, coordinate, and deliver nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, including direct patient care, patient education, and transitions of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that take into account the patient's physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in the state where care is provided.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Fetal Monitoring Certificate.
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a focus on C-section recoveries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong understanding of fetal monitoring and C-section recovery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
