  • Provide product feedback and recommendations

  • Resolve operational customer concerns
  • Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper signage
  • Assist with achieving store payroll and total loss budget

  • Ensure direct reports complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner

Physical Demands:

The Assistant Store Manager will be required to:

  • Stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving
  • Place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store

Job Qualifications:

To be successful as an Assistant Store Manager at Aldi, you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Be able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Develop rapport, trust, and open communication with direct reports
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Evaluate and drive performance of self and others
  • Understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
  • Operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
  • Stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner

Education and Experience:

Aldi is seeking candidates with:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience
