About the Role:

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance aspects of our fixed route bus operation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, and duties include daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a budget for the maintenance program and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Oversee the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Direct and manage a team of 10+ employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement work schedules, projects, and assignments to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Manage parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of necessary materials.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including written and oral reports.
  • Manage the financial and accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
  • Ensure technical competence with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact at all times.

Requirements:

  • At least three (3) years of recent experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop.
  • Experience managing/directing 10+ employees.
  • Experience working with 50+ buses within the last year.
  • Previous passenger transportation experience in a similar environment.
  • Ability to manage and interface with clients.
  • Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
  • Ability to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Technical competence with light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • ASE or manufacturer's certifications a plus.
  • Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
  • Experience with Diesel, CNG, and Alternative fuels a plus.
  • CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
