Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Melrose Park, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill patients in a mobile environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients in a mobile environment, including airway management, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management.
  • Assess and manage patients with respiratory conditions, including pneumonia, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • Collaborate with the transport team to ensure safe and efficient transport of patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Illinois.
  • 2+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a critical care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
