We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused House Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our events and providing exceptional customer service to our patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the lobby and audience seating area during events, ensuring a welcoming environment for patrons.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patron inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Supervise student and volunteer staff, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and are performing their duties to a high standard.
  • Assist the Patron Services Manager with event planning and coordination, including setup and teardown.
  • Work closely with the Ticket Office to ensure accurate and efficient ticket sales and distribution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College coursework in the fine and performing arts.
  • Experience in event management, front of house, and/or ticket office operations.
  • Experience working at a performing arts center or similar venue.
  • Experience supervising others and leading teams.
