We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Borden Dairy. As a key member of our production floor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dairy production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all filler equipment is properly cleaned, set up, and maintained to meet quality and safety standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks and documentation to ensure compliance with food safety and quality policies.
- Sample Collection: Collect and prepare samples for Quality Assurance testing to ensure product specifications are met.
- Monitoring and Adjustments: Monitor weights, seals, caps, and packaging of products, making adjustments as needed to optimize production.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.
- Equipment Changeovers: Perform safe and efficient changeovers of filler equipment and filler lines for next production runs.
- Wrapper Operations: Monitor and maintain wrapper operations, ensuring proper threading and minimizing jams.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Complete cleaning checklists and follow all sanitation and quality policies to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Packaging Materials: Ensure the use of proper packaging materials for each product being produced.
- Food Safety and Quality: Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements, meeting all pertinent regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements.
- Process Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of our production floor.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Analytical Skills: Experience analyzing and troubleshooting process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput.
- Mathematical Competency: Basic math competency required to perform calculations.
- Availability: Overtime and working on holidays may be required.
- Industry Experience: Experience within the food and beverage industry is preferred.
- Physical Activity: Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually the entire shift. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
- Work Environment: Must be able to work in a wet environment.
- Exposure to Hazards: Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Food Allergens: Exposure to nut allergens.
