Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to contribute to our team's success. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the correct materials are supplied to the production lines in a timely manner.
  • Start up equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform color and tool changeovers while operating profile lines with established procedures.
  • Conduct quality checks to meet client specifications for color, pattern, length, and width.
  • Perform regular equipment preventative maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, and other tasks as required.
  • Compare colors and patterns quickly and accurately to promote quality accuracy and thoroughness in measurement for data recording.
  • Complete adjustments to production lines to maintain adherence to customer specifications, quality standards, and productivity.
  • Document production, scrap, run conditions, and other key data accurately.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extrusion experience a plus.

Mathematical Skills:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to quickly and accurately compare color and pattern of products on the basis of visual stimuli to quality control standards.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud and PPE is required. Appropriate hearing protection while in the plant is required as noise levels within the facility meet OSHA requirements for hearing protection equipment.
