Job Description

This position involves teaching courses in aviation maintenance, supervising students in classroom and laboratory activities, and developing and revising curriculum to meet the objectives of the course/program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation maintenance and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and maintaining an effective learning environment in aviation maintenance courses.
  • Supervising students in classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Developing and revising curriculum to meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
  • Ensuring compliance with WSU Tech Course Standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports as required.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • An Associate Degree or higher, preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 year's full time (or full time equivalent) current progressive work experience in aviation maintenance required.
  • Qualifications required for mandatory program accreditation.
    • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate, required.
  • Extensive experience with the following preferred:
    • FAA/FAR Part 147 requirements
    • General Aviation Maintenance
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred, with pre-planning course work.
