About the Role

Mountain State Waste is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Repair and Rebuild: Troubleshoot and repair complex issues with vehicles and equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
  • Quality Control: Inspect the quality of outside repairs and rebuilds, and assess structural damage to assign necessary repairs.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to emergency breakdowns and conducting safety checks on vehicles.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience in heavy equipment maintenance or repair.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical demands of the position, including lifting, bending, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment

Mountain State Waste is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be exposed to physical occupational risks, including cuts, burns, and exposure to chemicals. You will also be required to work in a variety of weather conditions.
