We are seeking a Media Production Coordinator to enhance our broadcast and digital initiatives, particularly through our flagship program, AHA A House for Arts, which delves into the human experience through artistic endeavors. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Senior Producer & Host of AHA, contributing to the editing of segments for multiple platforms, including television, social media, and YouTube.

In addition, the Coordinator will assist the Production Manager in supporting various productions, whether in the studio, on location, or during the editing process for diverse projects. At WMHT, our media creators are innovative thinkers and proactive contributors who thrive in a collaborative environment. They engage in editorial discussions, share insights, and develop solutions together. The Media Production Coordinator is expected to bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a solid understanding of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro. As our industry evolves, we anticipate that the Coordinator will demonstrate a self-driven approach as we grow and learn collectively.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to community service through their work and a desire to cultivate the skills necessary for producing exceptional content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

AHA A House for Arts (50%):

  • Edit segments and episodes using Adobe Premiere Pro for distribution across various platforms, including television.
  • Assist in studio production across different roles.
  • Support field production as required.

General Production (50%):

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to facilitate content creation in both studio and field settings, including editing tasks as needed.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain proficiency with tools and equipment relevant to job responsibilities; participate in assigned training sessions.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve high-quality final products.
  • Adhere to the editorial standards established by the organization.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, media, or a related field, or equivalent production training.
  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of public broadcasting.
  • Strong dedication to excellence in the final product; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 lbs., and perform tasks requiring reaching, stretching, twisting, and bending.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the professional field.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization and with clients, while managing deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for all positions.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition) and Microsoft Office.
