About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Health is currently seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to fill an ongoing Med Surg nursing position in Lakeway, Texas.

Job Summary

This role involves overseeing patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include conducting detailed clinical assessments, prioritizing patient and family needs, creating, implementing, and evaluating care plans. Adjusting plans to reach desired outcomes is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, recognizing health issues and creating personalized care plans.
  • Prioritize patient and family needs, addressing concerns and providing support as needed.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting them as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly, working with colleagues and community to create effective care plans.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
