Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is on the lookout for a candidate to lead a team of engineers within a segment of the Tactical Fighters Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Engineering & Sciences (E&S) functional unit. This role necessitates the candidate to be predominantly onsite. The ideal candidate will become a vital member of our high-performing Systems Engineering, Integration Test (SEIT) team, focusing on the development and integration of multifunction sensor systems for some of the most sophisticated technologies in the U.S. defense arsenal. The primary emphasis for this position will be within the Tactical Fighter Business unit, particularly on contracts related to F-35 programs (Radar, MADL, EODAS) or classified projects under Advanced Tactical Programs (ATP).

The selected individual will exhibit exceptional management capabilities and possess a proven track record as a driven leader, effective communicator, and adept problem solver, capable of fostering and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A strong commitment to ethics and integrity, along with the ability to innovate while challenging conventional business practices, is essential. Demonstrated experience in building diverse and inclusive teams with high engagement levels, including mentoring and coaching, is imperative. The candidate must thrive in a collaborative environment and work across various business sectors to achieve team and departmental objectives.

This role encompasses dual responsibilities, balancing overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group comprising 10-15 engineers, alongside engaging in productive program work. The candidate will allocate approximately 20% of their time to organizational support and 80% to technical program responsibilities. The management aspect involves administrative duties and facilitating employee performance and career development through guidance and training. Direct program responsibilities may include mission engineering, system architecture development, requirements management, system design and analysis, modeling and simulation, model-based systems engineering, IPT/product owner leadership, integration and testing, specialties engineering, or other relevant technical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience, a Master's degree with 5 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Active DoD Secret clearance required U.S. Citizenship is mandatory Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Comprehensive understanding of Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with the integration and testing of advanced multifunction sensor systems, such as EOIR, RADAR, and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) 7+ years of experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment. Advanced degree in engineering Active DOD Top Secret clearance, SAP, and/or SCI access Experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic, or technical capacity Familiarity with technical development programs (e.g., Pathways, FTL, SEA)

This position is contingent upon the transfer of DoD Secret Clearance.

This position follows a standard work schedule of 9/80, allowing employees who work nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400. The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
