Job Summary:

The Machine Shop Operations Manager will oversee the production deliverables and lead a team of operators and machinists at ResourceMFG. This role will serve as a focal point for all machining operations within the company, requiring coordination with other departmental managers to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all machining operations, ensuring efficient production scheduling and minimizing machine downtime.
  • Lead and develop a team of machining personnel, including CNC Programmers, Set Up, and Manual Operators, by providing clear directives and driving continual improvement efforts.
  • Interpret drawing dimensions and tolerances to determine the most cost-effective manufacturing sequence and set up requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production scheduling, including machines, tooling, fixtures, and personnel.
  • Develop and implement systems to track and monitor productivity metrics, ensuring employee ownership of company results.
  • Attend weekly production meetings and provide status updates on all machining orders.
  • Ensure accurate monitoring, recording, and reporting of machining personnel labor hours, reviewing and approving each employee timecard.
  • Support Production Planning & Purchasing in identifying priorities and potential shortages on raw materials and components.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a high-mix, low-volume machine shop environment.
  • Understanding of CNC machining scheduling and programming.
  • Knowledge of manual machining and experience in an ISO work environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills, with a strong work ethic and superior technical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
