About the Role:

The Master Planning & Production Scheduler plays a crucial role in leading, coordinating, and communicating the scheduling and planning processes for the organization. This position requires collaboration with various teams, including Programs & Sales, Inventory, and Purchasing, to develop and implement superior planning and scheduling systems tailored for a low volume, high mix defense product manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute a comprehensive planning and scheduling framework aimed at minimizing work-in-progress and finished goods inventory.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Contracts, and Program Management to accurately forecast customer demand.
  • Align the Master Production Schedule with SIOP forecasts to enhance on-time delivery performance.
  • Utilize the ERP system (IFS) to oversee material flow and prioritize work, automating processes wherever feasible.
  • Ensure seamless material flow to production lines, maintaining optimal inventory levels in conjunction with the Inventory Supervisor.
  • Conduct data analysis by extracting and interpreting data from the ERP system to support critical business decisions.
  • Facilitate SIOP training and implementation across the facility.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in supply chain management, specifically in Production Planning and/or Scheduling.
  • Experience in metal manufacturing and machining processes.
  • Background in made-to-order, highly engineered, low volume/high mix metal production.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for consideration.

Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies (Lean 6S) and SIOP implementation.
  • Familiarity with defense industry clients.
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
  • Proven track record of enhancing on-time delivery metrics.
