Transfer Center Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transfer Center Registered Nurse to join our team at Ochsner Health. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for overseeing patient flow, making decisions related to bed control, and coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical oversight and critical thinking through daily patient flow and bed placement decisions.
- Support hospital administration, management, and nursing staff in achieving organizational goals and providing patient-centered care.
- Facilitate professional relationships between leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide patient room assignments based on diagnosis, acuity, and patient flow.
- Evaluate and facilitate staffing needs in collaboration with nursing units, utilizing resources for capacity surge and patient flow escalation plans.
- Complete accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Complete rounds and supervise day-to-day operations of nursing units.
- Participate in semiannual telemedicine, business development, and hospital outreach activities.
- Associate's degree in nursing, science, or related field.
- 3 years of clinical experience.
- Registered nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association.

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
