Merchandise Assistant Manager

Join Dollar Tree as a Merchandise Assistant Manager and take on a challenging role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for assisting with merchandising and freight processing tasks, as well as supporting the hiring, training, and development of store associates.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager
- Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
- Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
- Ensure all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, meet company standards
- Direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates when the Store Manager is not on the premises
- Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information
- Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures
- Assist with freight flow management and meet or exceed productivity standards
- Assist with ordering and stocking merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated items
- Assist with maintaining stockroom organization and ensuring the sales floor is sales effective on a daily basis
- Prefer prior retail and management experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
