Process Improvement Specialist

The Process Improvement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of production processes aimed at meeting customer expectations while enhancing profitability and productivity through effective process enhancements. This role also supports the development of maintenance strategies to guarantee equipment reliability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the production team to develop project plans.
- Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist supervisors in the adoption of innovative work practices and the onboarding of new team members.
- Engage in optimization workshops to share established methodologies.
- Conduct audits and document observations in the field.
- Monitor employee training and adherence to work methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on Lean principles, methods, and applications.
- Coordinate Lean initiatives at the plant level to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
- Perform time and motion studies and/or utilize value stream mapping and process charting to set and validate production benchmarks.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
- 6 to 9 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Able to collaborate effectively with all team members while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing standards and process concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to walk the production floor for up to six hours daily.
- Regularly requires standing, squatting, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
- Good hand-eye coordination and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasional lifting and twisting, with the ability to handle weights of 20 to 30 lbs.
