HR Generalist

The HR Assistant will primarily be responsible for performing administrative duties, including filing, payroll, and serving as a resource for employee inquiries. The position will be responsible for accurately tracking attendance and leave of absence. The role will also be responsible for payroll, attendance, FMLA/STD/LOA management, I-9s, maintaining files, and serving as a contact for uniform orders/invoices.
Key Responsibilities:- Payroll Management: Run temp payroll (weekly), attendance (daily), and FT payroll (bi-weekly). Make corrections and send files.
- Attendance Tracking: Accurately track and maintain attendance and leave of absence, including bereavement, FMLA, disability, and jury duty. Apply grace periods and give backs using a spreadsheet.
- FMLA/STD/LOA Management: Respond to emails and help employees with claims.
- OT Report: Run the OT report every Monday morning by 10 am.
- New Hire Setup: Set up new hires in KRONOS after orientation.
- Kronos Data: Update Kronos data, including SCNs.
- Payroll Issues: Address payroll issues and questions, including EAFs and HCFs.
- Shoe Reimbursements: Track and submit shoe reimbursements.
- Employee Verifications: Draft and issue employee verifications/letters.
- Vacation Tracking: Track vacation.
- File Maintenance: Keep employee files accurate by conducting regular audits of all HR-related data and information to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
- Communication: Communicate with supervisors/team leads on approved employee leave of absence.
- I-9 File Maintenance: Maintain I-9 files.
- Uniform Vendor Orders: Be a point of contact and maintain uniform vendor orders/invoices.
- Office Supplies: Assist with crafting purchase orders and ordering office supplies.
- SAP Reports: Run reports out of SAP.
- General Communications: Post general communications on bulletin boards.
- Safety Initiatives: Report all safety concerns and potential hazards to a supervisor. Participate in safety initiatives at the facility.
- Additional Duties: Attend to any duties designated by the Human Resource Manager. Uphold the KHMS standards detailed in the plant's KHMS training program.
This position is held to a higher expectation of attendance than other positions in the facility. Outstanding attendance is a job requirement. As such, frequent absences (extended, patterned, or not) may cause management to review your qualifications and abilities to continue to efficiently perform as an HR Clerk. Although this role will be primarily on first shift, the individual will have to be flexible with the start time depending on the needs of the business.
