Thorpe Plant Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled FRP Corrosion Craftsman to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX. As an FRP Corrosion Craftsman, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing FRP piping systems, reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of industrial carpentry projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Execution: Execute the construction and installation of industrial structures, including framing, formwork, scaffolding, and other carpentry tasks.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to understand the scope and requirements of industrial carpentry projects.
- Material Selection and Handling: Select appropriate materials based on project specifications, ensuring efficient use and proper handling of wood, metal, and other construction materials.
- Precise Measurements: Take accurate measurements and ensure precise cuts to meet project specifications and maintain high-quality standards.
- Equipment Operation: Maintain valid certifications or licenses needed to operate equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and fellow carpenters, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve challenges or obstacles encountered during the construction process, adapting to changing project requirements.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections to ensure that work meets high-quality standards and complies with project specifications and codes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes made during the construction process.
- Education and Experience: 1+ years of experience with FRP piping and basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Physical Requirements: Clarity of vision at varying distances, standing and walking for extended periods, dexterity of hands and fingers, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work Environment: Ability to work under inclement weather conditions and climb ladders and work from heights as necessary.
