Thorpe Specialty Services is seeking a skilled FRP Corrosion Craftsman to join our team in Corpus Christi, TX. As an FRP Corrosion Craftsman, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining FRP piping systems, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to understand the scope and requirements of FRP piping projects.
- Execute the construction and installation of FRP piping systems, including but not limited to, fabrication, installation, and testing.
- Select appropriate materials based on project specifications, ensuring efficient use and proper handling of FRP materials.
- Take accurate measurements and ensure precise cuts to meet project specifications and maintain high-quality standards.
- Maintain valid certifications or licenses needed to operate equipment.
- Proper use and maintenance of various tools such as saws, drills, and sanders, ensuring their safe and effective use.
- Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and fellow carpenters, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify and resolve challenges or obstacles encountered during the construction process, adapting to changing project requirements.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that work meets high-quality standards and complies with project specifications and codes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes made during the construction process.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- 1+ years of experience with FRP Piping.
- Basic use of hand tools (hammer, wrench, and tape measure).
- Experience with powered tools such as drills, and saws.
- The ability to multi-task, follow-through, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact with a diverse workforce effectively and professionally.
- Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
- Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail and number accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary.
