Key Responsibilities
  • Safe and Efficient Operation: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the generating plant, including the management of maintenance schedules and budgets.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a team of maintenance personnel, including electricians, mechanics, and other skilled trades.
  • Maintenance Management: Manage the maintenance of all plant equipment, including predictive, preventative, corrective, and overhaul maintenance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including those related to safety, environmental protection, and energy efficiency.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of maintenance activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Assistant Plant Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and administrative staff to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant, with a strong background in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team of maintenance personnel and coordinate with other departments.
  • Knowledge: A thorough understanding of power plant operations, including steam turbine technology, mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, and electronics.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but may become loud at the plant site. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and equipment with high temperatures. Exposed to protected and unprotected heights, which requires the use of a personal fall protection system (harness/lifeline). Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles which will require the use of personal protective equipment including respirators; fire retardant clothing; self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), etc.
