Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist II at Methodist Health System, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients. You will assist physicians and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our patients.

Responsibilities
  1. Preoperative Preparation: Perform preoperative physician preference lists, assemble supplies and equipment, and open sterile supplies using sterile technique.
  2. Scrub Person: Function as a scrub person during operative procedures, preparing, monitoring, and maintaining a sterile field, and completing surgical scrubs according to policy.
  3. Instrument Management: Organize and maintain sterile instruments and supplies, and perform counts according to facility policy and procedure.
  4. Communication: Communicate clearly and collaborate with other members of the perioperative team to prepare operative procedures.
  5. Leadership: Demonstrate collegiality and leadership qualities, participate in performance improvement activities, and maintain compliance with department call requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • 2 or more years of current operating room experience or a Certified Surgical Tech that meets the level one criteria
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
