Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Systems Specialist to join our team at Sparrow Health System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems, including sanitary facilities, water supplies, storm water and sewage disposal, medical gases, and fire protection sprinkler systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a progressive preventive maintenance system to ensure the efficient operation of our plumbing systems.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems throughout the hospital.
  • Install and maintain domestic hot and cold water systems as needed throughout the hospital.
  • Maintain and repair hot and chilled water piping for heating and cooling systems.
  • Provide, install, and maintain all medical gases necessary for the operation of the hospital.
  • Install and maintain fire protection sprinkler systems.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital.
  • Participate in the On-Call Program for trade area.
Requirements
  • State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber License or higher.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 6 years of Journeyman experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of plumbing code required by the city or state.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills.
