Job Summary
Responsible for setting up and sustaining the department's condition in accordance with company standards. Consistently delivers friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers. Ensures product quality and selection while performing related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

3. Maintains a culture of customer awareness and interactive engagement, promptly addressing and resolving customer concerns, which may include replacing subpar products, expediting returns or refunds, assisting in locating items, and providing direct assistance.
Receiving Duties Include:
1. Verifying orders against invoices; reporting shortages and claims to ensure accurate billing.
2. Breaking down loads and dating products; cutting cases; stacking, pricing, and marking merchandise; maintaining the produce storage area; etc.
3. Ensuring proper merchandising for freshness and quality by minimizing damage and spoilage through effective handling, creating produce displays, rotating stock, discarding outdated or spoiled items, ensuring accurate pricing and signage, and utilizing related equipment such as box cutters, compactors, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
4. Upholding cleanliness and visual appeal in the work area, storage area, and sales floor.5. Ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
6. Performing duties with integrity and honesty.
7. Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and the ability to compute weights and measures.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Consistently deliver friendly and courteous service to customers.
2. Adapt to varied shifts between early morning and late evening in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
3. Conduct visual inspections of products and displays, and read written materials.
4. Communicate effectively in writing.
5. Reach, lift, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 50 lbs. frequently.
6. Push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
7. Stand for extended periods, walk rapidly, and frequently bend, twist, and turn.
8. Perform safe and quick movements while operating related equipment with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
9. Work with hands exposed to ice, moisture, fruits, and vegetables.
10. Operate in a refrigerated environment (34 – 55 degrees F) for prolonged periods.
11. Learn proper handling, preparation, seasonality, perishability, product safety, sanitation procedures, and departmental policies.
12. Wear required personal protective equipment, including hats, hairnets, and gloves.
13. Must be at least 16 years of age.
14. Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.
Additional Requirements:
Food Handlers Certification (as per state laws).
Equipment Operated:
Includes tools and equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and ladders.
