Grain Facility Operator in Training Job Description

CGB Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Grain Facility Operator in Training. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow with a dynamic company.

Job Summary

The Grain Facility Operator in Training will assist in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars and trucks with grain. This role will involve performing a variety of duties, including transferring, loading, and moving grain to appropriate locations, as well as performing rail duties, weighing trucks, and grading grain.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Perform duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable).
  • Transfer, load, and move grain to appropriate locations.
  • Perform rail duties, such as preparing, unloading, loading, and placing rail cars.
  • Weigh trucks and grade grain.
  • Complete documentation timely, accurately, and legibly.
  • Perform general clean-up, including sweeping, shoveling, washing, painting, and other general housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs, where applicable.
  • Maintain grain quality while being stored and/or transferred.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No prior experience required, but 1 year of experience working in an industrial environment is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete documentation requirements.
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to use tools appropriate for assigned task.
  • Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
Physical Demands & Requirements

The work environment requires the ability to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The physical demands of the job include lifting/pushing/pulling 45 lbs. occasionally, pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. frequently, climbing, bending, and twisting occasionally, and standing and walking frequently.
