PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Standards Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and updating engineering standards that impact all levels of civil, distribution, transmission, and substation systems design.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain publications describing materials, material specifications, and installation procedures.
- Ensure that all publications and materials comply with applicable federal, state, and governing body regulations.
- Lead or assist in investigations into equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Pursue, analyze, pilot, and review new technologies for cost reduction, reliability improvement, and wildfire mitigation.
- Provide field support to address issues related to equipment, standards, and compliance.
- Collaborate with field teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
- Understanding of governing body rules, regulations, and requirements in engineering standards.
- Understanding of material failure modes and their detection.
- Fundamental understanding of civil, substation, transmission, and distribution system layouts.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a group of peers.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- Advanced degree in EE or ME with emphasis on power.
- Professional Engineering License.
