Job Overview

Position: Metal Fabrication Assistant

Work Schedule: 1st shift from 4am to 12:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 6-12 months of experience in grinding or a related field within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Supports team members involved in the production of forged goods by executing various tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Employees must adhere to safe work practices and be familiar with company policies and procedures regarding job safety, including safety regulations.
  • All responsibilities must be performed with integrity, professionalism, and in accordance with applicable company guidelines.
  • In cases of uncertainty regarding company policies, employees are expected to seek clarification from supervisors or authorized personnel.
  • Understands the roles and responsibilities of each member of the forging crew and their functions during operations.
  • Basic ability to interpret shop travelers, operational procedures, daily production reports, and other work instructions.
  • Responsible for cleaning dies, operating furnace controls (including door, hearth, and car), maintaining and lubricating dies, functioning as a scale blower, and using tools necessary for die and trimmer setup.
  • After completing a designated training period, gains foundational knowledge of materials and forging practices, as well as safe operation of floor manipulators.
  • Sets up and utilizes impression stamps.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area, machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other routine tasks as required.
