Position Overview

The Maine Medical Center in Portland is seeking a skilled Travel Radiology Technician to join our dedicated team. This role involves performing essential imaging services in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: ARRT and Maine State Licensure
  • Educational Modules: Standardized for all similar skill sets within the unit or tailored to this specific role
Job Responsibilities
  • This position entails clinical duties as a Radiologic Technologist within a Diagnostic Radiology department at a Level I trauma and teaching facility.
  • The responsibilities include conducting X-ray and Fluoroscopy imaging for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients across various settings including fixed X-ray rooms, operating rooms, and portable units.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years is preferred, though exceptional candidates may be considered without this requirement.
  • Profile Preferences: Experience in Inpatient, Trauma, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Operating Room imaging is essential.
  • Preferred Background: Familiarity with Level I Trauma settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
Work Schedule
  • Shift Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Commitment: 16 to 24 hours every fourth weekend
  • On-Call Requirements: Not mandatory, but availability is welcomed
  • Floating Duties: Coverage across Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Operating Room units in a 700-bed Level I Trauma teaching hospital

  • Total Beds: 700 (responsibility covers the entire hospital)
  • Patient Ratios: Not applicable
  • Equipment Utilized: Philips C90 Fixed X-ray, FUJI FDRGO Plus portables, Philips C-arms
  • Electronic Medical Records: EPIC
  • Patient Types: Support for all units and specialties within the hospital
  • Ideal Candidate Traits: Positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided if preferred; scrubs required in the operating room
  • Prohibited Attire: Jeans and unprofessional screen printing
