Key Responsibilities
As a Retirement Planning Advisor, you will join our expanding Empower Personal Wealth sales team, delivering essential support to clients during pivotal life transitions. Your role will involve advising clients on various account options available for their retirement savings objectives, including 401(k) and IRA products. At Empower, we encourage you to take charge of your career. New Retirement Planning Advisors will have the chance to advance to a Senior Retirement Planning Advisor position, enhancing your earning potential. The compensation structure comprises a base salary complemented by performance-based incentives, allowing for a substantial income. The incentive component will be variable and linked to specific sales targets established by Empower.
- Provide telephonic guidance during critical life events, such as employment transitions, regarding employer-sponsored retirement accounts.
- Discuss available account options, including 401(k) and IRAs, to align with clients' retirement savings objectives.
- Educate clients on details pertinent to their retirement plans, comparing options to best support their savings strategies.
- Focus on strengthening clients' relationships with Empower.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in sales, preferably in an inside sales capacity.
- Current FINRA licenses and/or the ability to successfully obtain FINRA 7 & 63 registrations within company-established timelines and complete FINRA fingerprinting upon hire.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to quickly and independently acquire new knowledge.
- Proven sales, relationship management, and customer service capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to engage clients, ask insightful questions, share ideas, and propose solutions.
Distinguishing Factors
- Prior experience in inbound and/or phone-based sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Quick adaptability to new systems; prior experience with SalesForce is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services, and the qualified retirement plan landscape.
- A growth-oriented mindset aimed at achieving company and team sales objectives.

Compensation Overview
The base salary range for this position typically falls between $52,000 and $64,000. Non-sales roles may participate in a bonus program, while sales positions are eligible for performance incentives, with total compensation potentially exceeding base salary based on individual performance. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
