About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paratransit Driver to join our team at First Transit in Philadelphia, PA. As a Paratransit Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and reliable transportation to differently-abled passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a specialized vehicle to transport passengers to their desired destinations.
  • Perform pre and post inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and ensuring their comfort throughout the ride.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, while maintaining strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
  • Exhibit exceptional patience, understanding, and empathy towards passengers, ensuring their needs are met with utmost care.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and any events that may occur during your shift.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle mobility devices and assist passengers with disabilities.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
  • Required to pass a map test and have knowledge of the Philadelphia area.
  • Required to complete all necessary training.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to sit for long periods while operating a vehicle.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing.
