Clinical Nurse

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking experienced Clinical Nurses to join our Pediatric Unit in the MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital. As a Magnet Recognized hospital, we provide our patients with exceptional oncology nursing care. Our 35-bed unit offers a dynamic and supportive environment where you can care for all pediatric patients in various services lines, including pediatrics oncology, pediatrics surgical, pediatrics stem cell transplant and cellular therapy, and young adult stem cell transplant and cellular therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, other services, patients, and patients' families to plan care and evaluate outcomes.
- Assess patients' needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team.
- Improve practice by integrating results and theories of research studies.
- Participate in data collection for current studies.
- Document care according to established standards.
- Act as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights.
- Train, coach, and assist team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
