Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at The Medical Group of Kansas City. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs, and assisting physicians with minor surgeries and physicals. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Assist physicians with injections, lab testing, and phlebotomy.
  • Answer telephone calls and screen referrals.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or 12 months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials are highly preferred.
