Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in evaluating patients and developing treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings, family, and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develop treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Competent in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, observes safety precautions, and provide verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Re-evaluate and modify treatment plans and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
  • Recognize and communicate when the patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
  • Ensure accurate billing for own therapy services.
  • Understand and respect age group, cultural, and religious beliefs of clients, community, and staff.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Respect the rights and privacy of others and hold staff member information in strict confidence.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education/Training: Master's degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence or active engagement in Clinical Fellowship Year Requirements. Maintain current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida. Provisional license is acceptable. Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
  • Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
