Job Summary:

The Ophthalmic Photographer plays a critical role in the performance of eye examinations by utilizing various photographic equipment. This position involves anterior and posterior segment clinical ophthalmic imaging, research participation, preparing patients for imaging, and troubleshooting equipment issues. Testing includes OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, slit lamp biomicroscopy, and ultrasonography. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist ophthalmologists in eye examinations using photographic equipment.
  • Perform anterior and posterior segment clinical ophthalmic imaging.
  • Participate in research projects.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of cameras and photographic techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical and ophthalmologic terminology.
  • Minimum 2 years of general medical photography or 1 year of ophthalmic photography experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.
  • Current CRA or OCT-C certification.
