The Senior Wine Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the dining experience by managing the wine offerings and ensuring high standards of service. This individual will collaborate closely with the management team to develop and maintain a sophisticated beverage program that aligns with the Majordomo ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Beverage Director and General Manager to design a wine program that elevates guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in procurement, inventory management, and financial oversight of beverage operations.
  • Train and mentor the sommelier team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Conduct educational sessions for the Front of House staff to enhance their beverage knowledge.
  • Oversee wine storage, organization, and the maintenance of the wine list.
  • Engage with guests to promote wine sales and provide tailored beverage recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards and responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain accurate records of beverage inventory and sales.
  • Drive initiatives for improving the beverage program in alignment with restaurant goals.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a sommelier or beverage-focused role within a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wine and other beverages, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and guest relations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform various physical tasks, including bending and reaching.
