The Senior Labor Relations Manager will offer guidance and strategic leadership regarding employee and union interactions for a pivotal site within GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation, which specializes in the design, production, assembly, and testing of advanced energy solutions and components. This role will spearhead labor initiatives and projects with extensive scope and significant impact while managing intricate labor relations challenges and contributing to the overarching labor relations strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Deliver strategic support and daily leadership in Union Relations, including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and resolution of disputes at the final stage of the grievance process.
- Develop Union Relations strategies aligned with the established business objectives.
- Represent the organization in all legal matters related to Union Relations.
- Act as the Company’s representative in Union Relations discussions with labor unions.
- Contribute to the formulation of Union Relations strategies and plans that align with corporate and business goals.
- Exhibit sound judgment and decision-making to maintain positive labor-management relations.
- Provide counsel to management and Human Resource/Union Relations personnel on contract interpretation and other union-related policies and procedures.
- Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and manage terminal stage grievances.
- Support the Legal Operations team with legal issues concerning unions, including arbitration hearings.
- Collaborate with other functional support teams such as Compensation, Employment, and Benefits on matters involving union-represented employees.
- Engage with Corporate Union Relations as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
- At least five years of experience in Labor Relations or five years in Human Resources with substantial exposure to Labor Relations.
- Proven experience in negotiating Union Relations.
- Familiarity with national and local labor contracts.
- Strong capacity to make prompt decisions under pressure.
- Experience in an HR client support capacity.
- Demonstrates humility: respectful, open-minded, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Transparent communicator: shares vital information, speaks candidly, and contributes constructively.
- Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes tasks, and remains committed.
- Leadership skills: effective communicator, decisive, and collaborative.

Compensation Grade:
SPB1
This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will depend on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
