Job Summary:

The Production Team Lead will supervise and coordinate activities of the manufacturing department at Spectrum Plastics Group's Minneapolis facility. This role involves closely monitoring production operations, making immediate adjustments to improve performance, and driving a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote and drive a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Directly interface with all facility departments to achieve goals and objectives, working closely with the Production Schedule to establish Production Priorities based on customer needs, machine availability, and labor constraints.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of the manufacturing department, overseeing plant-wide activities, and ensuring departmental safety compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a cross-functional team to facilitate all production, material handling, and inspection needs throughout the shift.
  • Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained.
  • Acts as an Emergency Responder on the shift, originates Accident Reports when an incident occurs for direct reports, and supports the Injury/Accident Reduction Program.
  • Improves production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, suggesting changes and implementing those changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and five to seven years experience in manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with customers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
