Position Overview:

We are seeking a Materials Operations Supervisor to join our team in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of warehouse personnel, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a high-volume, fast-paced, and lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the performance of your team, focusing on safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to schedules.
  • Supervise warehouse associates to meet material handling and production needs, while evaluating team performance and facilitating training as necessary.
  • Support the flow of inbound and outbound materials, ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining visual management systems.
  • Implement and uphold the 5S methodology and PFEP strategy to ensure an organized warehouse and efficient staging areas.
  • Oversee material withdrawals to guarantee the availability of inventory for seamless production operations.
  • Monitor operational metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment is maintained through regular inspections and timely repairs.
  • Adjust warehouse layout and operational design as needed, maintaining effective inventory locators and material handling routes.
  • Foster a positive team environment by ensuring fair employment practices and upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficient problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle R12 is a plus.
  • Background in operations, inventory management, and lean manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is beneficial.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000. This range may vary based on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, and job-related requirements.
