Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team at Children's National Hospital. This is a full-time position that requires a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient care and a commitment to excellence.
About the RoleThis role will be responsible for providing direct patient care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Patient Care: Provide high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, including administration of chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and other medications.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and symptom management strategies, promoting empowerment and self-care.
- Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document patient information, including vital signs, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
- Licensure: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the District of Columbia.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing, preferably with experience in chemotherapy administration and management.
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
