Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an outpatient setting. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you'll demonstrate clinical competency utilizing evidence-based practices and research in all areas of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes.

You will incorporate knowledge of safety protocols, cost containment, and quality improvement throughout the nursing process. Your ability to identify patient, unit, and organizational priorities and incorporate them into the nursing process is essential.

The successful candidate will adhere to all compliance and policy and procedure requirements of the organization, including licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, time and attendance policy, dress code policy, patient confidentiality, infection control, medication administration, and regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, DHEC).

This position is eligible for a bonus, details of which can be found on our website. In this role, you will provide care within the scope of the SC Nursing Practice Act and work in an environment with minimal shift, weekend, holiday, and on-call work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment: Collects data and completes nursing assessments using appropriate area and/or age-specific standards/policies and tools. Completes necessary forms.
  • Assesses and recognizes subtle or actual changes in patients' status and patient response to intervention.
  • Identifies nursing priorities for patient plan of care based on nursing assessment (and other data as appropriate). Validates these priorities with healthcare team members and documents accordingly.
  • Planning/Outcomes: Develops an individual plan of care based on the age and assessed needs of the patient.
  • Evaluation: Evaluates nursing plan of care for effectiveness and determines progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Patient/Family Education/Teaching: Identifies/assesses patient/family learning needs and teaches accordingly.
  • Professional Accountability: Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standard guidelines, state statutes, family policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • One year experience as a registered nurse; OR successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or comparable residency from another organization.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
