Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer works directly with patients using various ultrasound techniques to obtain high-quality cardiac images. This role requires collaboration with cardiologists to assist in transesophageal echocardiography and stress echoes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize echocardiography and related cardiac testing to obtain accurate images.
  • Work closely with cardiologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.


Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in echocardiography or a graduate of an ultrasound program with an Associate of Science degree.
  • Registered or registry eligible preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation.
  • Medical terminology, especially cardiac and ultrasonic terms.
