Job SummaryThe Cardiac Sonographer works directly with patients using various ultrasound techniques to obtain high-quality cardiac images. This role requires collaboration with cardiologists to assist in transesophageal echocardiography and stress echoes.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize echocardiography and related cardiac testing to obtain accurate images.
- Work closely with cardiologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Two to four years of experience in echocardiography or a graduate of an ultrasound program with an Associate of Science degree.
- Registered or registry eligible preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation.
- Medical terminology, especially cardiac and ultrasonic terms.
