Overview: As a CDL-A Truck Operator, you will be tasked with the safe and efficient transportation of goods across state lines. This role is integral to upholding the core values of Hamilton Parker, which include H.E.A.R.T. (History, Enthusiastic, Adaptive, Reputable, Team-oriented).

Department: Operations

Reporting To: Shipping and Receiving Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while driving and on job sites.
  • Load and unload materials from flatbed trucks.
  • Operate various types of vehicles and machinery, including electric and diesel trucks, piggyback loaders, skid loaders, and dump trucks.
  • Comply with federal, state, local, and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the day.
  • Assist customers in placing materials as needed.
  • Ensure safe driving practices are consistently followed.
  • Obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
  • Support warehouse operations, including working on Saturdays as required.
  • Utilize RF scanners and forklifts to fulfill customer orders.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate using maps and GPS technology.
  • Proficient in collaborating with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL A license.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA and ODOT regulations is essential.
  • Forklift certification is required.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Knowledge of building materials is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of experience driving with a CDL is required.
  • A background in customer service is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs is necessary.
  • Frequent sitting for extended periods (up to 4 hours) is expected.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and walking may be required.
