We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Paramedic to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Critical Care Paramedic, you will work in the Emergency Department, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care in the Emergency Department, functioning up to your level of certification in the State of Iowa under the direction of Emergency Department Physicians and Registered Nurses.
  • Transport patients to and from UnityPoint Health, following protocols established by the Medical Director.
  • Drive ambulance and follow driving policies approved by IDPH.
  • Support evidence-based clinical practice and participate in data collection and interpretation of clinical literature.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, utilizing tools such as SBAR for clear and concise communication.
  • Assist in creating a positive work environment by mentoring staff and students, and working with team members to develop initiatives for quality and patient care.
Requirements
  • Current Paramedic Licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • Critical Care Paramedic certification.
  • Minimum of three years' experience on a paramedic ground service or related experience.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS according to standards of the American Heart Association.
  • Recent Critical Care Paramedic experience with air or ground EMS service.
