Key Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining and improving quality improvement initiatives.
- Effectively manage scheduling and tracking of referrals.
- Open and close the office as required.
- Assist in capturing patient demographic information.
- Participate in department activities, including attending meetings and resolving problems.
- Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and determining needed services.
- Complete pre-charting of value-based pieces and send messages to the Care Team when warranted.
- Prepare patients for examination and escort them into the exam room.
- Provide patient care services, including phlebotomy, pulmonary functions, and EKGs.
- Dispose of bio-hazardous waste and maintain vaccine temperature logs.
- Assist with scheduling outpatient testing, pre-certifying patients for procedures, and responding to patient communications.
- Communicate with providers and Care Coordinators regarding hospital discharge, ED visits, and specialist visits.
- Review in-basket clinical pool messages and complete necessary information to clear the message.
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- Graduates of accredited Medical Assistant programs are strongly preferred.
- Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
