Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 1 to join our team in the Department of Surgery. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and support services to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Patient-Centered Care: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to patients and families, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.
  • Support Clinical Functions: Assist with clinical functions within the scope of practice for all Divisions within the Department of Surgery.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with physicians, mid-level providers, and other healthcare professionals to address and resolve medical concerns.
  • Coordinate Care: Serve as a point of contact for coordination of care across multiple departments, agencies, and organizations.
  • Document Patient Information: Document all patient-related encounters appropriately in our electronic medical records.
  • Support Departmental Functions: Support other departmental functions as needed, including building relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff to streamline intra and interdepartmental processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required.
  • Experience: No previous experience required.
