Pharmacy Technician Per Diem Job Description

Penn Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical research. As a Pharmacy Technician Per Diem, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team and contributing to our mission.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and compound pharmaceutical preparations, including large volume parenteral solutions, intravenous piggybacks, and TPN solutions.
  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing functions, including filling and labeling medications, and restocking Pyxis devices and medication cabinets.
  • Maintain medication inventory by ordering and receiving medication from wholesalers and vendors, and completing paperwork relative to orders received.
  • Assist with medication movement for patients transferred from the ED to an inpatient unit or discharged from the ED.
Requirements:
  • Lic-Pharmacy Technician Registration (Required)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Own vehicle (candidate will be required to drive to our other pharmacy locations to deliver medicine)
