Job Summary

The Wheeler Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School-Based Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical and case management services to children in a school-based setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and parents to provide high-quality mental health services to students in our school district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral health consultation to primary care providers and assist clients in meeting medical treatment compliance.
  • Conduct program-specific screening and evaluation, and formulate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).
  • Develop and document clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.
  • Maintain and facilitate a minimum of 1 group during the school year, and utilize evidence-based practices (EBPs) to engage clients in model-specific treatment targeted to address trauma.
  • Communicate in a positive, timely, and effective manner with clients, families, and all internal and external providers a minimum of once monthly.
  • Attend required meetings and multidisciplinary treatment team planning meetings, providing a maximum of 1 hour per week of consultation to their designated school.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Counseling, or Doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions: Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC, or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.
