Position Overview

The Waukesha County Park System is in search of committed, innovative, and authentic individuals to fill the role of Lead Seasonal Park Operations. This position involves hands-on labor related to the upkeep, construction, and repair of facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Seasonal Park Operations, you will be instrumental in event preparation and the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment within the park system.

Essential Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in event management and facility maintenance, construction, and repair.
  • Proven leadership abilities to inspire and direct a team.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $13.34 to $18.57, depending on qualifications.

Additional Information

Prior to employment, the selected candidate must successfully complete reference checks and a background verification process.

Typical Duties Include
  1. Coordinating and executing event setups, including arranging furniture and equipment as per agreements.
  2. Acting as a liaison for the facility during events, ensuring compliance with agreements and addressing any inquiries or issues.
  3. Conducting maintenance and repairs on buildings and systems.
  4. Overseeing and guiding temporary staff when full-time personnel are unavailable.
  5. Training seasonal employees in proper maintenance and setup procedures.
  6. Maintaining cleanliness in public areas through various custodial tasks.
  7. Building and sustaining positive relationships with clients and visitors.
  8. Upholding a professional image of the park system and the county.
  9. Communicating any issues or suggestions for improvement to supervisors promptly.
  10. Managing security and access to facilities in line with event requirements.
  11. Operating and maintaining necessary tools and equipment.
  12. Restocking supplies as needed.
  13. Adhering to all county employment policies and regulations.
Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have experience in manual labor related to maintenance and repair.
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
