Software Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer III to join our Information Systems team at Energy Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems that support the distribution of incentives for clean energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop web applications and other enterprise software systems using Django/Python.
- Review functional requirements and draft implementation plans to ensure seamless integration with our clients' systems.
- Contribute new unit tests and promptly fix any tests that fail continuous integration checks to ensure high-quality code.
- Collaborate with internal clients to debug, reproduce, document, and fix support problems for production systems.
- Perform code reviews on colleagues' contributions to the codebase to maintain high standards of quality and best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as standup meetings and pointing discussions to ensure effective team collaboration.
- Lead technical analysis and discussions with internal clients, project managers, and other software engineers to drive project success.
- Specialize in one or more codebases to become the go-to expert for questions about bugs or new feature implementation plans.
- A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience with Django/Python, with a strong focus on software development and maintenance.
- Experience with Django REST Framework is a plus, as is experience with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Effective communication skills and a passion for collaborative software development are essential for success in this role.
- Energy-related professional experience is a plus, but not required.
